Infrared transmitters/receivers work by transmitting signals over the airwaves using radiofrequency waves at frequencies between 900 MHz and 2 GHz. They can pick up these signals when they’re reflected back to their source. IR transmitters usually have two buttons; one to turn the unit on and another to change channels.

Getting started:  The Spectrum remote control is powered by two AA-size alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries, which are included in the package. To install them, remove the cover from the backside of the unit, then press down on each end to pop out the retaining clips. Slide one battery into either slot at a time until both slots have been filled.
